Could you elaborate a bit on the ‘feels like gouache?’ I’ve never tried gouache but I do love the idea of something less messy to deal with. (I’m so digital nowadays.)
Yeah! So crayons have a range of opacity. Neocolor II’s are another popular choice but they’re actually a little harder, blending feels a bit tricky. Kid’s oil pastels or crayons like Kitpas or stabilo woodies feel so creamy and easy to smoosh together, like how gouache feels to me. One downside- they definitely smudge in a sketchbook!
